I have been studying the Kumite Gatas of Wado Ryu for approximately twenty years now. It is unfortunate that these techniques, which Hironori Ohtsuka developed as early as the 1920s and are integral to the essence of Wado, are still not widely known. They completely revolutionized my own karate practice. Only by delving into Kumite Gatas can one truly grasp the fundamental concepts of Wado-ryu. In this book, I present my own interpretation of Ohtsuka's entire Kumite Gata methodology. Simultaneously, I conduct a thorough analysis of the core elements of Wado-ryu. The book provides a pathway to the heart of Wado-ryu through the lens of the traditional Kumite Gatas, offering essential insights to practitioners. "Osta nyt" is Finnish and means "Byu now" :)
